Pres.Clinton honors Lwala

On September 25th, Former President Bill Clinton honored the Lwala Community Alliance for its commitment to Maternal Child Health in Kenya. The announcement was made at the fifth annual meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative in New York City. Lwala founder Milton Ochieng and Executive Director James Nardella were invited to be attendance. This event signals the Lwala Community Alliance’s debut on the world stage with key leaders in international development. Other attendees at the Clinton Global Initiative included President Obama, numerous other heads of state, organizational executives, film and music celebrities. academics, and corporate leaders.
At this years meeting, the Lwala Community Alliance committed to expanding its Maternal Child Health programs by building and staffing a maternity facility and scaling its public health programming in the Nyanza Region of Kenya. This initiative is also supported by Senator Bill Frist and the Segal Family Foundation.
